COMMERCIALISATION OF GRILLO-ZEP®
Among others Ital Leghe activities, we highlight the commercialization of Grillo-ZEP rods consisting of a series of innovative lead-free zinc-based alloys MADE IN GERMANY.
Grillo-ZEP® is specifically produced from a combination of zinc with aluminium, copper and magnesium.
Thanks to state-of-the-art extrusion and casting systems, it is possible to obtain a homogeneous product, high quality, durability, and straightness in format variants, achieving mechanical properties which were not feasible with zinc material before.
These properties are useful in numerous applications of zinc semi-finished products.
They are high-yield alloys, sustainable and machinable with common production technologies.
Moreover, using a hot stamping process, it is possible to simplify and reduce costs of the process itself. Grillo-ZEP rods represent a valid alternative to brass rods. They are lighter, less expensive, more sustainable and with inferior operating and processing costs.
GRILLO-ZEP® ADVANTAGES
- Lower environmental impact: it is guaranteed a completely lead-free product and a reduction in the emission of CO2. It is also a 100% recyclable material.

Grillo-ZEP® products present a specific gravity inferior of 30% to brass, which is fundamental in terms of cost reduction: with a kilo of Grillo-ZEP® it is possible to obtain 30% more of components!

AVAILABLE FORMATS
Grillo-ZEP® is available in round, hexagonal or flat shapes and in special shapes on demand. Diameters range from 8 mm to 50 mm and length is 300 mm to 3,000 mm, extruded with tolerance up to h9.
